Stroke Isn’t One Condition
— It Has Different Forms

A stroke occurs when blood flow to the brain is interrupted or reduced. However, not all strokes are the same. Understanding the type of stroke helps doctors choose the right treatment quickly, improving survival and recovery.

Ischemic Stroke

Ischemic stroke is the most common type of stroke, accounting for nearly 80–85% of all cases. It occurs when a blood clot blocks blood flow to the brain.

  • Caused by blood clots
  • Blocks oxygen supply to brain
  • Needs immediate treatment

Hemorrhagic Stroke

This occurs when a blood vessel ruptures, causing bleeding in the brain. It is less common but more severe and life-threatening.

  • Caused by high blood pressure
  • Leads to brain bleeding
  • Requires emergency care

Transient Ischemic Attack (TIA)

TIA is a temporary blockage of blood flow to the brain. Symptoms disappear quickly, but it acts as a warning sign of a future stroke.

  • Temporary symptoms
  • No permanent damage
  • High future stroke risk

Every Second Counts. Act FAST.

If you notice stroke symptoms, immediate action can save lives and reduce disability.
